William Shortall – IFA Countryside Secretary

As the Secretary of IFA Countryside, William Shortall brings over 15 years of invaluable experience to our organisation. With his unwavering commitment and deep knowledge of countryside sports, William plays a crucial role in advocating for our members and ensuring that their voices are heard.

One of William key contributions has been his representation of IFA on the Firearm Consultative panel and his collaboration with the Firearms Policy Unit. Through his involvement in these important initiatives, William actively contributes to shaping firearm legislation that strikes a balance between the interests of recreational hunters and the conservation of our natural resources.

Beyond his professional engagements, William’s passion for the countryside and outdoor pursuits runs deep. As a lifelong recreational hunter and shooter, he understands the joys and challenges of these activities intimately. His first-hand experience allows him to connect with our members on a personal level and advocate for their rights with authority and empathy.

When William isn’t working tirelessly for IFA Countryside, you’ll often find him indulging in his other passions. Wildlife and game conservation are close to his heart, and he actively supports initiatives aimed at preserving and protecting our natural habitats. William’s love for the outdoors extends to game shooting and fishing and he has even completed the Seven Summits.  Furthermore, William is a fervent enthusiast of training working gun dogs.
