Introduction to Beekeeping Course

IFA Countryside presents a brand new Introduction to Beekeeping course, delivered by the Irish Bee Foundation. Over six weeks of online sessions, participants will gain comprehensive theoretical insight into the world of honeybees and beekeeping fundamentals.

This course is open to IFA and IFA Countryside members only โ€” membership grants access to this and other exclusive training opportunities.

What Youโ€™ll Learn (Modules)

Each week focuses on key theory topics:

  • Beekeeping basics and essential equipment

  • The role and history of the honeybee

  • Bee anatomy, hive positioning and swarming

  • Bee health: diseases and poisoning risks

  • Honey harvesting theory

  • Colony handling and ongoing management

Structured around clear learning outcomes, this course equips you with lasting knowledge and confidence.
