On Sunday July 17th, IFA Countryside were in attendance alongside some 3,000 others at the Irish Working Dog Show in Moate, Co. Westmeath.

IFA Countryside and the IWTF or Irish Working Terrier Federation have a short but strong relationship.  All sorts of working strains including Jack Russell, Patterdale and Lakeland among many more were present at the show. Competitions were held across all ages and breeds for dogs and bitches and awards were given for the best dog/bitch in each of the respective classes with outright overall best dog and bitch up for grabs too.

When speaking to IFA Countryside; Owen Mulcahy from the IWTF said that “Being members of IFA Countryside gives all parties involved a sense of security and assurance when working the terriers on landowner’s land. We have a good tradition of 100s of years of terrier work in Ireland and pest control on Irish farms, this has allowed us to maintain the relationship with farmers over the years and being members of IFA Countryside is crucial to that”.

IFA Countryside would like to thank Owen and the rest of the team in the IWTF and look forward to a continued relationship throughout the future.
